Book 7/10: You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
Rating: ✩✩✩Not gonna lie, Louise had me up until the last chapter when she started talking about health and how our own thoughts cause and can heal our diseases. While I don't doubt that the outcome of our illnesses can be affected by our mindset, it's a bit of a stretch to say you can heal yourself solely by thinking positive thoughts. There is definitely some action involved—as in her case, she changed her diet, exercised, etc. While I do think a healthy mindset is the basis of positive change, there must be aligned action taken to achieve positive outcomes, and I don't necessarily think she lets the reader know that explicitly. Shame on you Louise.Anyway, I'd wanted to read Louise's signature book for a long time now but never went out to get it. Then this gem illustrated by @kellyraeroberts came out and you bet I had to buy it when I saw it at Barnes & Noble. It's so darn pretty! The book itself is pretty much the same "your thoughts shape your reality" type of read. Overall, I'm glad I finally read it. But man are the illustrations absolutely stunning to look at! Got my order from @kellyraeroberts!! I recently picked up the 40th edition of Louise Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life." It's been on my TBR list for a long while now and the only reason I bought it now was because of Kelly's illustrations, which appear throughout the book. Anyway, I've been reading it and just falling IN LOVE with the artwork. I fell down a rabbit hole one night scrolling through Kelly's site and well, these beauties fell into my cart. I definitely want to get one of these prints in a larger size now to hang in my kitchen. But I picked up her deluxe planner. I'm not going to use it as a planner (cause I don't really need another one) but as a journal—specifically thinking about using it as my One Little Word journal for next year. Definitely going to rearrange some of the pages, but I've got a peek at it up on my YouTube channel if you're curious to see how it looks now before I deconstruct it!Happy Friday lovelies! xx*
